WHY BYOB?

BYOB (Bring Your Own Bag) is designed to aggressively sell items that would otherwise be marked down during clearance. Therefore, you will maintain higher margins and have less inventory left over to donate at the end of the summer and winter clearance cycles.

You know what customers love? Discounts. You know what they love even more? Being in charge of that discount. Customers bring their own bag, no matter the size, and stuff it full of merchandise and take 30% off everything inside. Essentially, it’s 30% off the entire store, but that doesn’t make the customers quite as enthusiastic as bringing their own bag and thinking they’re “getting away” with something. The customers are “in control” of how much they save, therefore stuffing more merchandise into their bag, which is exactly what you want them to do.

Utilizing Hipbone’s custom promotion, BYOB, your store will see increased customer counts, higher sales numbers, higher margins compared to clearance, and overall greater customer satisfaction on the days this promotion is run.

Print Materials Ordered

We order print materials for an event 6 weeks before the intended start date of a promotion to ensure plenty of time for shipment.

Staff Instructions

We send staff instructions to ensure the promotion runs smoothly and all employees understand what to do in the store that day.

Online Presence

Custom web headers, Facebook cover photos, buyers kiosk slides, and more will all be updated to reflect the event.

Social Media

All social media posts will be scheduled out a week in advance, to have plenty of time to go through our review process before being made public.

Emails & Other Direct Marketing

2 emails will be sent out throughout the course of the week, which are drafted and sent to Partners for pre-approval. We’ll also coordinate and send out any texts through third-party companies like Buyers Kiosk, FiveStars, or Signpost.

Giveaway

We run a special giveaway on social media in honor of the event. Typically, the prize is a $25 Gift Card. Mostly, this is intended to increase customer engagement and organic reach of the promotion.

Our team will have someone on duty through your entire event to help support your in-store efforts. We’ll answer customer questions, remind them about the event, and post any incoming pictures as they’re sent in so customers can get a “real time” sense of what’s happening in the store.

There is no “perfect promotion” – one promotion that breaks every record, meets every standard, and sells all the items in a store. If that were the case, everyone would already be doing it!
